With over 15 years in education, a decade of classroom experience, and the honor of being named Teacher of the Year in 2022-2023, my life’s work is dedicated to teaching, mentoring, and creating impactful resources.
My love for teaching started in the simplest, yet most profound of places – my childhood. Growing up, I played school with my cousins, instinctively taking up the role of the teacher. I was the one who diligently prepared lesson plans for our pretend classes, assigned homework, and even handed out report cards. This early inclination wasn’t just a childhood phase; it was the spark of a lifelong dedication to education.
Fast forward to my professional life, I have spent an enriching decade as a classroom teacher. These years were not just about imparting knowledge; they were about shaping lives, inspiring young minds, and constantly learning from the diverse experiences each day brought. In the 2022-2023 academic year, my efforts and passion were recognized when I was awarded Teacher of the Year at my school—an achievement that holds a special place in my heart.
My journey didn’t stop at the classroom doors. I ventured further into the realms of authorship, content creation, and mentoring. Writing and creating educational content has allowed me to extend my reach beyond the physical classroom, offering me a platform to share my insights, strategies, and experiences with a broader audience.
When I’m not engrossed in the world of education, I’m just like you – seeking the joy in life’s simple pleasures. At home, I’m a loving wife, a proud bonus mom, and a doting dog mom. My hobbies are as diverse as my professional interests. From playing pickleball with friends to traveling, creating resources, writing, reading enthralling books, and enjoying movies, I believe in embracing life in all its facets.
As the autumn leaves of 2023 began to turn, I found myself stepping into an expanded role as an Apple Learning Coach, symbolizing a significant evolution in my educational journey. This transition was driven by a deep-seated desire to share my expertise in leveraging Apple technology within the classroom. But my aspirations didn’t stop there. At my school campus, I also embraced the fulfilling role of a teacher mentor, guiding a new teacher as they navigated the initial phases of their career.
In addition to these roles, I have been fortunate to lead professional development sessions at my school. These sessions have been centered around utilizing data to effectively form small groups and employing resourceful strategies during small group instruction in reading. These opportunities have allowed me to share practical, impactful techniques with my colleagues, further enhancing our collective teaching methodologies.
My journey from classroom teaching to mentoring and leading professional development represents a profound deepening of my commitment to education. As a mentor, my goal is clear and impactful: to harness my accumulated knowledge and skills to uplift and inspire fellow educators. I aim to create a supportive environment that not only aids in the growth of new teachers but also enriches the skills of seasoned educators through collaborative learning and shared experiences.
As I embark on the path of business, my focus is on sharing the wealth of knowledge I’ve accumulated.
